From your Mac
Sendoff vs the Mac Share menu.
The Share menu asks how you want to send. Sendoff asks who it's for.
How the Share menu works
- Select the file in Finder and click Share in the toolbar. On the desktop, Control-click the file and choose Share.
- Choose an app: Mail, Messages, AirDrop and others.
- That app opens with the file attached. Add the person, then send.
When the Share menu is the better choice
- It’s built in and free, and it works in most apps, not just Finder.
- You’re sending somewhere other than a person, like Notes or Reminders.
- You’re sending to someone new, or only once in a while.
- You want to write a longer message before it goes.
When Sendoff is the better choice
- You send to the same few people often. Sendoff starts from them, ranked by how often you send.
- You don’t want to remember who gets email and who gets iMessage. Sendoff remembers each person’s channel. Tab switches it.
- You’d rather not leave the keyboard: drop the file, type drop the file, type “acc”, Enter, Enter.ldquo;accdrop the file, type “acc”, Enter, Enter.rdquo; for your accountant, Enter, Enter.
- The file is too big for Gmail. Sendoff checks first and sends it by iMessage if that person has it.
