From your Mac
Send a screenshot from your Mac.
Taking it is one shortcut. Sending it shouldn't mean digging through your desktop.
Take the screenshot
- Shift-Command-3 captures the whole screen.
- Shift-Command-4 lets you drag to capture part of it.
- Shift-Command-4, then Space, captures one window.
By default, it saves to your desktop. A thumbnail shows in the corner of the screen for a few seconds first.
Drag the thumbnail
Before it disappears, drag the thumbnail straight into a Messages conversation or a new email. Press Return or click Send.
Copy it, then paste
Add Control to the shortcut, like Control-Shift-Command-4, and the screenshot goes to the clipboard instead of the desktop. Click in the message field in Messages or Gmail and press Command-V.
Share the saved file
On the desktop, Control-click the screenshot, choose Share, then pick Messages or Mail and add the person.
Send it to your teammate with Sendoff
Sendoff is a Mac app that lives in the notch. Drag the screenshot from your desktop up to the notch, pick your teammate, press Send off. It remembers whether they get Gmail or iMessage, and you get three seconds to undo.
