From your Mac
Send a PDF from your Mac.
A signed form, an invoice, a contract. The PDF is ready. Getting it to the right person should take seconds.
Share it from Preview
With the PDF open in Preview, click the Share button in the toolbar and choose Mail or Messages. Add the person and send.
Share it from Finder
Control-click the PDF in Finder, choose Share, then pick Mail or Messages. This works without opening the file. Moving it to your own iPhone instead? See Send a PDF from your Mac to your iPhone.
Attach it in Gmail
In Gmail in your browser, start a new message and drag the PDF into it, or click the paperclip and choose the file. Gmail attaches files up to 25 MB. Anything bigger goes in as a Google Drive link instead.
Drop it into Messages
Open the conversation in Messages and drag the PDF into the message field. The other person can open it right in the thread, on their iPhone or their Mac.
If the PDF is too big
Scanned documents get large fast. In Preview, choose File, then Export, and set Quartz Filter to Reduce File Size. Check that the text is still readable before you send it. Messages is also a good fallback, since it handles much larger files than an email attachment.
Send it to your accountant with Sendoff
Sendoff is a Mac app that lives in the notch. Drag the PDF up to the notch, pick your accountant from the few people you send to most, and press Send off. It remembers whether they get Gmail or iMessage, switches to iMessage when a file is too big for Gmail, and gives you three seconds to undo.
