From your Mac
Send a Pages document from your Mac.
If the other person doesn't use Pages, send it as a PDF or a Word file. Pages can convert it and send it in one step.
Send it as a PDF or Word file
- With the document open in Pages, click Share in the toolbar, then click Export and Send.
- Choose PDF or Word. Word files open in Microsoft Word as .docx. For a PDF, a higher Image Quality setting makes a bigger file.
- Choose Mail or Messages, add the email address or phone number, then click Send in Mail or press Enter in Messages.
Send it as a Pages file
Click Share in the toolbar, click the pop-up menu, then choose Send Copy (Send a Copy on macOS 27 or later). Pick AirDrop, Mail or Messages. With AirDrop, the other person has to be on the same network and accept the file. If you haven’t saved the document yet, Pages asks you to first.
Export a copy, then attach it anywhere
To send it from Gmail or another app, choose File > Export To, pick PDF or Word, click Save and choose where it goes. Then attach the file as usual. Changes to the exported copy don’t affect the original. If the document has a password, it carries over to PDF and Word copies, but you can change or remove it.
Too big to attach? See Gmail attachment size limit.
Send the PDF to your accountant with Sendoff
Sendoff is a Mac app that lives in the notch. Drag the exported PDF to the notch, pick your accountant, press Send off. It remembers whether they get Gmail or iMessage, and you get three seconds to undo.
